According to recent statistics of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of early 2017, there are 116 countries and territories investing in Vietnam through 22,792 projects with total registered capital of US5.6 billions. Korea has led with total investments and number of projects (i.e. more than US billions), followed by Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. Total import-export turnovers of FDI enterprises in 2016 increased by 9% compared to that of 2015, contributed to 65% of total import-export turnovers of the nation.
